Seaworld

Our third day in Anaheim we went to San Diego, to see Seaworld,
What a lovely place - I could spend more time there - it was lovely seeing the whales, the seals, the dolphins and the polar bears!!

The next day we went to Universal Studios.
Well, we did as the bus driver suggested, we went down to the backlot and hopped on the Revenge of the  Mummy ride - WHAT WERE WE THINKING!!!!!!
It was like a rollercoaster, all done in the dark!!
(Well I assume so - my eyes were closed most of the ride....)
We were raced down at high speed, raced sideways at high speed, raced up at high speed, and then.........
did all again BACKWARDS!! (I don't know how many times I was lifted off my seat!!)
Not that we like rollercoasters - but we have sworn off of them for life!!!

We took it pretty easy after that, walked around looking at the rides, then went and saw the animal stars show -

We were a bit disappointed that there weren't more sedate shows, everything seemed to be big, loud and scary - oh well........

Our first day at Anaheim we went to Disneyland (as you do!)

We had a wonderful time - did some of the rides - the one we liked the most was "Star Tours" - a Star Wars simulated 3D ride - we laughed all the way through!

and then watched the fireworks finale at the end of the night -

The Shows

The second night of our stay in Las Vegas we went off to a buffet dinner (with over 1,000 dishes to choose from) at the Rio Casino, then saw the show "The Rat Pack is Back".The next day we moved hotels to the "Luxor"

The next 2 days we spent just visiting the various Casinos, having "little plays" along the way.
The 3rd night we saw Cirque de Soleil "Beatles Love" and on the 4th night we did a matinee of  "Menopause" then saw "Jersey Boys" - all brilliant!

Viva Las Vegas!

Once we arrived and settled in our hotel - Circus, Circus, we went on a night tour, visiting some of the more noted casinos - The Venetian, Caesar's Palace, the Bellagio,

 before heading down to the Nugget Casino and Fremont Street. The light show at Fremont Street is quite spectacular -

Grand Canyon

From Bryce Canyon, we travelled past Lake Powell and on to the Grand Canyon.

Every National Park we have been to has been different but each has been a delight to see - and we were not disappointed by the Grand Canyon -

The next day we started heading towards Las Vegas - but we had a stop at the little town of Seligman which still has part of Route 66 -

After here we travelled on to Las Vegas passing the Hoover Dam -

Capitol Reef NP and Bryce Canyon NP

Today we stopped for an early lunch at a picnic ground within the Capitol Reef NP - so called because the formations look like the dome in Washington DC -



Whilst we were having lunch we had a little visitor -

a marmot!

What can I say about Bryce Canyon?! - it is only a semi-circle canyon - but, boy, what a canyon!!
